I’m terrified of getting a tattoo. Not because I’m worried about the pain or scared of needles but because it is a HUGE commitment. I always question if what I want to get will still be something I’ll want permanently attached to my body for the rest of my life or if it’ll still look good when I’m older. I can’t help but get slightly panicked every time I get close to seriously considering one. Which is probably why I refuse to get one until I get a specific one that I have yet to finish planning to perfection (I don’t know if it’ll ever be what I want it to be ’cause then I’d have no excuse not to get it). My boyfriend has several tattoo, most of which are geeky. He’s got 2 Halo tattoos, 2 Mass Effect tattoos, and a Gears of War tattoo, just to name a few. He always jokes that one day he’ll get me tattooed but thankfully he knows I’m hesitant and so he doesn’t push it. If I DID get tattoos (and I have a pretty decent sized list of one’s I’d like to maybe get eventually) then these would definitely be on the top of my list. Continue reading
Lembas (Lord of the Rings)
While probably not the most tasty, lembas sounds pretty neat. It keeps for days, is very nutritious, and a small bite is said to satisfy hunger. However, given Continue reading
So I’m gonna try to do Beauty and the Bookshelf‘s Get Up Offa That Slump challenge just to get used to posting content more regularly (already failing as this should have been up yesterday). The first challenge is to do an interview… with yourself. Soooooo this should be interesting.

I’m starting to feel old. In a year I’ve gone from being a perpetual night owl to feeling lucky if I don’t pass out before 10pm. Derby is starting to really take it’s toll on me as well. Between training and board/committee duties I feel both physically and mentally wiped most of the time. Despite all of this, I’m really happy with a lot of the progress I do manage to make. I’m still reading a lot. I’ve started planning and organizing myself more. I’m eating better and taking better care of myself (’cause I’m pretty much falling apart).
One thing I just wish I had Continue reading
What a month! It’s been so busy with roller derby and work that I’m lucky I got to read much of anything. The biggest bummer of the month was when I borrowed a couple of Deadpool comics from my local library only to find out they were impossible to read and follow due to a majority of the pages being ripped out. On the up side, I recently discovered Riveted (formerly PulseIt) and couldn’t keep from reading books that caught my eye before the time ran out. As such, I did manage to finish 4 books so below you’ll find mini-reviews and their corresponding challenges.
